Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in the absence of their regular teacher Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, aligned with the school's curriculum and teaching style Manage classroom behavior, creating a safe and inclusive learning environment Communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students, ensuring a collaborative approach to education Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your Scoot consultant, discussing school feedback and developing your teaching skills Engage in ongoing training and professional development, enhancing your teaching practices and staying up-to-date on best practices Essential Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits NJ Substitute Credential Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor Background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this) Full COVID-19 vaccination A passion for education and putting students first An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be Preferred Qualifications: Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience Special education or paraprofessional experience Experience working with diverse student populations Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching practices and classroom management strategies Skills and Competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt to new teaching environments and styles Strong organizational and time management skills Flexibility and willingness to take on varied assignments Commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At Scoot Education, we're committed to supporting your ongoing growth and development as an educator.
