About the Role As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll have the flexibility to choose your assignments and work on your own schedule. Our platform offers a range of opportunities, from day-to-day substitutes to long-term assignments, allowing you to gain hands-on teaching experience and build your professional portfolio. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in the absence of their regular teacher Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, aligned with the school's curriculum and teaching methods Manage classroom behavior and create a positive learning environment Communicate effectively with school staff, administrators, and parents Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your designated Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback and develop your teaching skills Essential Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor NJ Substitute Credential Background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this) Full COVID-19 vaccination A passion for education and putting students first Preferred Qualifications Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience Special education or paraprofessional experience Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Skills and Competencies To succeed as a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll need: An empathetic nature and a growth mindset A drive to be the best you can be and make a positive impact on students' lives Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment Strong classroom management and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Scoot Education, we're committed to helping you grow professionally and personally.
