Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in the absence of their regular teacher Develop and implement lesson plans, adapting to the needs of the students and the classroom environment Manage classroom behavior, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment Communicate effectively with school staff, administrators, and parents Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your designated Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback and develop your skills Essential Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor NJ Substitute Credential Background check and TB risk assessment (Scoot Education will cover the cost) Full COVID-19 vaccination A passion for education and putting students first An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a Substitute Teacher or in a related educational role Special education experience or certification Subject-specific expertise (e.g., Math, Science, English, etc.) Skills and Competencies Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt to new situations and challenges Strong classroom management skills Flexibility and willingness to work varied schedules Proficiency in technology, including online learning platforms and tools Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Scoot Education, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our substitutes.
