We're seeking an experienced and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in Neptune City, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll have the flexibility to work on your own schedule, choosing assignments that fit your availability and preferences. Our competitive pay rates, up to $190 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments, reflect our commitment to valuing your expertise and dedication. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in various educational settings, including elementary, middle, and high schools. Develop and implement lesson plans, adapting to the needs of the students and the classroom environment. Build positive relationships with students, teachers, and school staff, creating a productive and respectful learning environment. Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback, develop your skills, and refine your teaching practices. Engage in ongoing professional development through our free, online training programs, covering topics such as trauma-informed teaching, classroom management, and more. Essential Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits. Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor. NJ Substitute Credential. Background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this). Full COVID-19 vaccination. A passion for education and putting students first. An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a substitute teacher or in a related educational role. Special education or subject-specific expertise (e.g., Math, Science, English, Special Ed). Experience working with diverse student populations and adapting to different classroom environments. Skills and Competencies: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Classroom management and organizational skills. Technological proficiency and willingness to learn new tools and platforms.
