Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in the absence of their regular teacher Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, ensuring continuity of education Manage classroom behavior, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment Communicate effectively with school staff, administrators, and parents Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your designated Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback and develop your skills Take advantage of our free, online training programs to enhance your teaching skills and stay updated on best practices Essential Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits NJ Substitute Credential Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor Background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this) Full COVID-19 vaccination A passion for education and putting students first An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a Substitute Teacher or in a related educational role Special education or subject-specific expertise (e.g., Math, Science, Special Ed) Experience working with diverse student populations and age groups (Kinder, Early Years, Elementary, Middle, High School) Skills and Competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt to new situations and challenges Strong organizational and time management skills Flexibility and willingness to work varied schedules Proficiency in classroom management and conflict resolution What We Offer: At Scoot Education, we're committed to supporting our educators and providing a fulfilling experience.
