The Role: Substitute Teacher We're seeking a dedicated and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our network in Adelphia, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll have the flexibility to choose your assignments and work on your own schedule. This is an excellent opportunity for educators looking to gain hands-on experience, for those transitioning between roles, or for anyone passionate about making a difference in students' lives. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality educational support in the absence of regular classroom teachers. Engage with students, understanding their needs, and delivering lesson plans effectively. Manage classroom environments to ensure they remain conducive to learning. Communicate effectively with school staff, including providing feedback on student progress and any classroom management issues. Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your designated Scoot consultant to discuss your performance, receive feedback, and develop your teaching skills. Utilize our online training resources to enhance your teaching practices, including trauma-informed teaching and classroom management techniques. Essential Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits. Three professional references, with one from a previous direct supervisor. NJ Substitute Credential. Background check and TB risk assessment (we cover the cost). Full COVID-19 vaccination. A passion for education and a commitment to putting students first. Preferred Qualifications: Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience. Special Education experience or certification. Experience in specific subject areas such as Math, Science, STEM, English, ELA, History, Social Studies, PE, Music, Art, Drama, or Theater Studies. Skills and Competencies: Empathetic nature and a growth mindset. Excellent classroom management and teaching skills. Ability to adapt to new environments and lesson plans.
