Job Summary As a Substitute Teacher at Compass Academy, you will have the opportunity to teach students in a dynamic and supportive learning environment. This hybrid role allows you to balance your time between our remote office and home, providing the flexibility you need to succeed. You will be compensated with a competitive salary for your time and effort, with the potential to earn up to $189 per day for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging lessons to students in various subjects, including Math, Science, STEM, English, ELA, History, Social Studies, PE, Music, Art, and Drama. Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters student growth and achievement. Assess student progress and provide feedback to support their learning journey. Collaborate with school administrators and other educators to ensure seamless instruction and student support. Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance your teaching skills and stay up-to-date on best practices. Essential Qualifications High School Diploma or Bachelor's degree required. CO Substitute Teacher Authorization (either have or be in the process of obtaining). Background check (we'll cover the cost of the one you do with Scoot). Three professional references with one from a previous direct supervisor. A passion for education and putting students first. An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education or related field. Teaching experience, especially in special education or English language learner instruction. Experience with trauma-informed teaching, classroom management, and IEP development.
