Key Responsibilities
As a Student Researcher at Google, your primary responsibility will be to participate in research to develop solutions for real-world, large-scale problems. This will involve:
Collaborating with Google research scientists and engineers on research projects
Applying software engineering methods to develop innovative solutions
Conducting research in areas such as Normal Language Getting, PC Vision, AI, Deep Learning, Algorithmic Underpinnings of Optimization, Quantum Data Science, Information Science, and Programming
Contributing to research networks or endeavors, including publishing papers for conferences or journals
Working on projects that are modest and exploratory, with no clear deliverable, allowing for flexibility and creativity
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must:
Be currently enrolled in a PhD program in Software Engineering, Semantics, Measurements, Biostatistics, Applied Math, Tasks Exploration, Financial matters, or Innate Sciences
Have experience in one area of software engineering (e.g., Normal Language Getting, PC Vision, AI, Deep Learning, Algorithmic Underpinnings of Optimization, Quantum Data Science, Information Science, Programming, etc.)
Be able to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
Currently attending a university in the US
Currently enrolled in a full-time degree program and returning to the program after completion of the internship
Experience as a researcher, including internships, full-time, or in a lab
Experience contributing to research networks or endeavors, including publishing papers for conferences or journals
Experience with at least one broadly useful programming language (e.g., C/C++, Java, MATLAB, Go, Python, etc.)
