About the Role The Student Researcher Program is designed to promote academic collaborations with students through research at Google. Key Responsibilities Participate in research to develop solutions for real-world, large-scale problems, collaborating with Google Research scientists and engineers. Engage in exploratory research projects that may not have a clear deliverable, but have the potential to make a significant impact. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you'll need to meet the following minimum qualifications: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Linguistics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Economics, or Natural Sciences. Experience in a single region of laptop technology (e.g., Natural Language Understanding, Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Algorithmic Foundations of Optimization, Quantum Information Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, etc.). Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications can give you a competitive edge: Currently attending a diploma application within the US. Currently enrolled in a full-time diploma application and returning to this system after the completion of the internship. Experience as a researcher, including internships, full-time, or at a lab. Experience contributing studies to groups or efforts, such as publishing papers in meetings or journals. Experience with one or more general-purpose programming languages (e.g., C/C++, Java, MATLAB, Go, Python, etc.). Ability to communicate and write in English fluently.
