As a Student Monitor, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational journey of our students, ensuring their safety, and promoting a positive learning environment. Job Summary The Student Monitor position requires a strong and diverse skillset to drive success. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring students during lunch, recess, study hall, in-school and/or after school detention, assisting and supporting with individual behavior management, and providing assistance for students requiring additional educational guidance. Key Responsibilities Monitor large groups of students during lunch, recess, study hall, in-school and/or after school detention to ensure their safety and well-being Assist students in opening/closing containers during lunch and communicate behavioral expectations/manners appropriate to the setting Take attendance in study hall and In-After School Suspension/Detention, and provide assistance for students requiring additional educational guidance Assess playground for security and condition of equipment, and report concerns to the appropriate staff member Ensure the safety of students under all conditions, and perform other job-related duties as assigned Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent No experience required, but one-year experience providing general supervision to students or within a classroom environment is preferred Experience working with school-age children is preferred Must be a minimum of 18 years old Criminal background check required for hire Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred: Previous experience in a similar role or in a related field Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Basic first aid and CPR certification Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Communication skills : Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents Interpersonal skills : Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents Problem-solving skills : Ability to think critically and resolve problems in a timely and effective manner Time management skills : Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively Adaptability : Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Adams 12 Five Star Schools, we are committed to providing our employees with opportunities for career growth and development.
