The Role: STEM Teacher Extraordinaire As our ideal candidate, you'll be responsible for implementing the STEM Encore program and collaborating with teachers to integrate interdisciplinary STEM activities into the core curriculum. Key Responsibilities: Deliver engaging STEM-oriented instruction using project-based learning methods, inspiring students to explore the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Participate in professional development and training related to STEM programs and methodologies, staying at the forefront of current research and best practices. Employ a range of instructional techniques, media, and assessments to guide the learning process and drive student achievement. Leverage technology to promote learning, creativity, and collaboration, ensuring our students are well-prepared for the challenges of the 21st century. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement interdisciplinary STEM activities that enrich the core curriculum and foster a deeper understanding of STEM concepts. What We're Looking For To succeed in this role, you'll need a unique blend of teaching expertise, STEM knowledge, and interpersonal skills. Here's what we're looking for: Essential Qualifications: A current and valid Illinois Teacher Certificate, demonstrating your commitment to the teaching profession and your compliance with state regulations. At least two years of exemplary classroom teaching experience, showcasing your ability to deliver high-quality instruction and drive student growth. A proven track record of using a range of instructional methods, analyzing data, and leveraging technology to improve instruction and student outcomes. Strong content knowledge in science and/or mathematics, combined with a deep understanding of NGSS and CCSS standards. Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, students, and the broader community. Preferred Qualifications: PEL with Middle School Self-contained endorsement, demonstrating your versatility and ability to teach across various grade levels. STEM training or certification, highlighting your expertise in STEM education and your commitment to staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the field.
