Key Responsibilities Follow and teach lesson plans provided by the regular teacher, adapting instruction to meet the diverse needs of students. Instruct based on subject and grade-specific curriculum, ensuring that students receive high-quality educational experiences. Monitor and assess student achievements and outcomes, providing feedback and support to enhance student learning and progress. Exercise classroom and behavior management skills, creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment that promotes social, emotional, and academic growth. Share your specialized knowledge to coach staff and support special education students, contributing to the development of inclusive and effective educational practices. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess an active Teaching license with a special education generalist (5-21) and/or special education specialist (5-21) endorsement(s), as well as a Substitute Authorization (or be in the process of obtaining one if your license is expired). You will also need to provide three professional references, with at least one from a previous direct supervisor, and complete a Background Check for Scoot Education and the Colorado Department of Education. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in special education, with a deep understanding of diverse learning needs and effective strategies for supporting students with special needs. Strong knowledge of subject and grade-specific curriculum, as well as expertise in instructional design and delivery. Excellent classroom and behavior management skills, with the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, staff, and the school community. A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development, with a passion for staying up-to-date on best practices in special education.
