Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Special Education Substitute Teacher to join our team. Key Responsibilities


Follow and teach lesson plans provided by the regular teacher, ensuring a smooth transition for students.
Instruct based on subject and grade-specific curriculum, adapting to the needs of students with diverse learning styles.
Monitor and assess student achievements and outcomes, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
Exercise classroom and behavior management skills, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Share your specialized knowledge to coach staff and support special education students, promoting a collaborative approach to education.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:


Active Teaching License: A special education generalist (5-21) and/or special education specialist (5-21) endorsement(s) is required.
Substitute Authorization: You must have or be in the process of obtaining this authorization if your teaching license is expired.
Three Professional References: One reference must be from a previous direct supervisor, highlighting your teaching skills and experience.
Background Checks: You will need to complete a background check for Scoot Education and the Colorado Department of Education to receive your Substitute Authorization.
