The Role: SolidWorks CAD Technician As a SolidWorks CAD Technician, you'll be an integral part of a close-knit design team responsible for designing and optimizing innovative manufacturing lines. Your expertise in SolidWorks will be crucial in bringing the team's engineering designs to life, and you'll have the opportunity to mentor junior colleagues and graduate engineers to enhance their SolidWorks skills. Key Responsibilities: SolidWorks Design and Detailing: Create detailed engineering designs using SolidWorks, ensuring accuracy, precision, and compliance with company standards. Team Collaboration: Work closely with the design team to develop and refine designs, providing input on design feasibility, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness. Mentoring and Upskilling: Help develop the SolidWorks skills of junior team members and graduate engineers through guidance, training, and feedback. Hybrid Working: Balance on-site work with flexible hybrid working arrangements, depending on project requirements. Design Optimization: Participate in design reviews and contribute to the optimization of designs for improved performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Essential and Preferred Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: Essential Qualifications: Proficiency in SolidWorks, with a strong understanding of its features and capabilities. Experience in designing complex machinery and equipment. Strong technical drawing and detailing skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Willingness to work on-site in Pontyclun, with flexibility for hybrid working. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in mentoring or training others in SolidWorks or other CAD software. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and principles. Familiarity with other CAD software or design tools. Degree or diploma in a relevant engineering or design discipline.
