Our client, based in Ann Arbor, MI, is seeking an experienced Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join their team on a remote contract basis. As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of innovative healthcare software solutions, including Java-based web applications, clinical decision support tools, EHR integrations, and mobile applications. As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer, you'll work in an Agile environment alongside a talented team of Software Developers, Business Analysts, and Public Health Analysts to design, develop, and deliver high-quality software products. Key Responsibilities Familiarize yourself with QA testing methodologies in software development environments and identify test requirements from functional requirement specifications. Design and implement comprehensive test coverage plans, including functional, automated, regression, and acceptance tests to ensure new enhancements meet user requirements. Create and maintain efficient automated scripts that utilize clean code and best practice coding standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Software Developers and Business Analysts, to identify and resolve defects and ensure seamless integration of software components. Develop and execute test cases, identify and report defects, and track defect resolution. Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Applications, or Information Systems. 2+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with a focus on testing and validation. Experience with Postman and testing tools such as Protractor, Selenium, and Cucumber. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with great attention to detail. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with developers and analysts. Understanding of Agile Development Methodologies, with the ability to adapt to changing project requirements. Self-motivation, enthusiasm, and a willingness to learn and grow. Eligibility to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following skills and experience are highly valued: Experience with SQL and database testing. Familiarity with bug tracking and version control systems. Experience writing automation test scripts using Selenium or other open-source tools.
