About the Role The Site WHS Manager will play a critical role in implementing and maintaining our health and safety programs at the site level. This position requires a strong understanding of local, regional, and federal regulations, as well as the ability to analyze data, identify risks, and develop strategies to mitigate them. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of WHS professionals, providing guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with all applicable Amazon WHS policies, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to reduce risk and ensure a safe working environment. Key Responsibilities Possess a thorough understanding of local, regional, and federal regulations and company policies, ensuring compliance and adherence to all applicable laws and standards. Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with all Amazon WHS policies, conducting regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement. Measure site performance against published requirements in WHS policies, identifying deficiencies and developing plans to address them, and driving accountability for implementation. Analyze WHS metrics and review incident trends to justify the allocation of resources to areas of highest risk, ensuring that our efforts are targeted and effective. Perform frequent site WHS audits to identify non-compliant equipment and processes, implementing solutions to eliminate exposure to risks and prevent injuries. Audit recordkeeping practices and Gensuite entries to ensure compliance with global WHS standards and regulations, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records. Audit workplace organization and associate behaviors to ensure that training, auditing, and scoring methods are accurate and consistent, promoting a culture of safety and accountability. Ensure site leadership and associates are trained and knowledgeable of their responsibilities under each policy, auditing the quality, delivery, and effectiveness of all required WHS training. Must be able to work flexible shifts, including days, nights, and weekends, as required by the needs of the site. Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in WHS or environmental programs, with at least 3 years of increasing responsibilities in a manufacturing, production, or service operations environment. A bachelor's degree is required, or 2+ years of Amazon experience. You will also need to have knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications, including the use of pivot tables and the development of charts and graphics. Preferred Qualifications Distribution Center or Manufacturing EHS experience with a mix of exempt and non-exempt employees at a site of at least 250 people. Master's degree in a relevant field. Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment. Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic organization. Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site leaders. Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies. Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability.
