Experienced Silicon Validation Engineer – Wi-Fi Chipset Testing & Embedded Systems Development (Remote, Part-Time or Full-Time)

Remote Full-time
Join arenaflex: Shape the Future of Wireless Technology

Are you ready to be part of a revolution in wireless connectivity? At arenaflex, we're not just building products – we're crafting experiences that connect millions of people around the world. As a member of our dynamic Silicon Validation team, you'll have the unique and rewarding opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that will delight and inspire countless users every single day.

Our impact reaches far beyond the laboratory. We're transforming how people communicate, work, and live through innovative wireless solutions that push the boundaries of what's possible. We're currently seeking talented individuals to join our Silicon Validation Crew at all experience levels – from junior engineers taking their first steps in hardware validation to senior veterans who thrive on complex debugging challenges.

About the Role

As a Silicon Validation Engineer at arenaflex, you'll become an integral part of our team of exceptional software and hardware engineers with diverse backgrounds spanning cellular modems, connectivity solutions, tool drivers, CPU architecture, caching systems, kernel programming, and embedded structures. Your primary mission will be to define and expand test coverage to evaluate functional blocks and debug silicon issues in our next-generation Wi-Fi chipsets.

This is a remote position offering flexible scheduling with both part-time and full-time opportunities available. You'll collaborate closely with designers and architects to understand various functional blocks and their real-world use cases, then translate that knowledge into comprehensive test strategies.

What You'll Do

Your daily responsibilities will encompass a wide range of technical challenges that keep your problem-solving skills sharp and your expertise growing:

Develop and Execute Validation Tests: Write, debug, and integrate new tests for integrated Wi-Fi chipsets, complex digital interfaces, and power management subsystems. You'll push functional blocks to their absolute limits and debug issues surfaced during rigorous testing.
Pre-Silicon Environment Collaboration: Work with other corporations and businesses to push validation tests down into pre-silicon environments, ensuring comprehensive coverage before hardware fabrication.
Hardware-Software Integration: Collaborate closely with hardware design engineers to debug silicon troubles uncovered during testing, bridging the gap between theoretical design and practical implementation.
Test Coverage Expansion: Define and expand test insurance to evaluate functional blocks and debug silicon problems, ensuring our products meet the highest quality standards.
Embedded Software Development: Write basic embedded software exercises and test scripts to validate silicon functionality across various scenarios.
Debugging Excellence: Utilize modern lab equipment including logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, and high-speed memory testing tools to diagnose and resolve complex issues.
Remote Support: Support product development builds both locally and remotely, providing technical expertise regardless of physical location.

Key Qualifications

We're looking for candidates who bring a strong foundation in silicon architecture and validation methodologies:

Robust understanding of SoC/Fagan architecture and silicon micro-structure, with the ability to analyze complex integrated circuits at multiple abstraction levels
Proven experience in writing basic embedded software exercises and test scripts using industry-standard languages and frameworks
Strong background in hardware/software interaction, with the ability to bridge the gap between physical hardware and software validation
Solid digital fundamentals including timing analysis, state-machine debugging, and RTL/test-bench development experience
Hands-on experience with high-speed memory structures and communication interfaces such as DDR, PCIe, USB, and wireless protocols
Working knowledge of Mac OS and protocol specifications for digital interfaces
Experience crafting tests to target specific portions of silicon designs and virtual interconnects
Familiarity with modern lab equipment including logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, and oscilloscopes
Ability to interpret and navigate schematics and design documentation
Strong desire to deep-dive into machine-level problems and drive issues to closure in a team-based environment
Proactive demeanor with excellent communication skills to collaborate across disciplines

Preferred Qualifications

While not required, these additional skills and experiences would make you an even stronger candidate:

Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field
Experience with kernel programming and low-level system software development
Background in cellular modem validation or wireless connectivity testing
Knowledge of power management subsystems and low-power design validation
Familiarity with automated test framework development
Experience in pre-silicon validation environments and simulation platforms
