Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Atlanta, GA. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, testing, and troubleshooting new and existing software applications and frameworks for internal use. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop solutions that meet those needs. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and troubleshoot new and existing software applications and frameworks for internal use Plan and develop cloud-native applications, components, and enhancements with an emphasis on clean, highly efficient, legal, and unambiguous code for the full technical stack Participate in Agile development teams following 12 Factor app development principles Collaborate with business clients to identify key business and technical drivers and refine, test, and troubleshoot projects to address business needs Determine customer and process requirements and ensure that those requirements can be achieved through excellent expectations Mentor junior engineers, both employees and contractors Communicate effectively with peers, business analysts, and subject matter experts Practice active listening, convey ideas effectively, and prepare written documentation Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field Seven years of IT experience or related experience Experience with Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, and Apache NiFi DevOps experience with Git, Jenkins, or Ansible Test-driven development experience with a testing framework, Cucumber, and Selenium Experience with Apache Cassandra and DataStax Enterprise Experience deploying applications in AWS or Azure Experience working in the airline industry Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field Ten or more years of IT experience or related experience Experience with cloud-native applications and microservices architecture Experience with containerization using Docker Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines Experience with agile development methodologies Skills and Competencies Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, or C++ Experience with database management systems such as MySQL or Oracle Strong understanding of software development life cycles and methodologies Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Delta Airlines, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
