About the Role
We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Designer to lead the visual design of Microsoft Groups. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating engaging and intuitive user experiences that drive adoption and satisfaction. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, engineering, and research, to ensure that our designs meet the needs of our users and align with our business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our users, their needs, and their behaviors to inform design decisions.
Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to define and prioritize design requirements.
Design and deliver high-quality visual experiences that meet our design standards and guidelines.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive design language system that ensures consistency and coherence across our products.
Work with engineers to ensure that designs are executed accurately and efficiently.
Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to inform design iterations.
Communicate design decisions and rationale to stakeholders, including product managers, engineers, and researchers.
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve our design capabilities.
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in product design, with a focus on visual design and user experience.
Proven track record of delivering high-quality designs that meet business goals and user needs.
Strong understanding of design principles, human-centered design, and user experience design.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe Creative Suite.
Experience with design systems, design languages, and design tokens.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
Experience working with architects to execute complex, animated interactions.
Experience working cross-platform and with various design tools.
Experience working directly with clients, running research studies, or collaborating with a client specialist.
Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, HTML/CSS, or Python.
Experience with design tools such as Code Sandbox, InVision, or Axure.
