Job Overview The Senior Internal Audit Data Analyst will be responsible for utilizing a wide range of analytical skills to support the digital transformation of our Internal Audit Risk-Based Approach Review and the SOX program. This will involve automating manual tasks using Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and Automated Process Automation (APA), supporting internal audits with data analysis, creating Tableau Dashboards, running statistical analysis, and creating real-time monitoring over high-risk areas. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retrieving and analyzing large datasets, be highly proficient in SQL, Excel, KNIME, and data visualization tools like Tableau. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with Internal Audit Staff to identify and execute on analytical and automation opportunities within internal audit Work in a fast-paced environment and be able to keep up with emerging new risks and challenges while learning new tools and technologies Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand risks that need to be monitored and the business processes behind them Develop, maintain, and improve analytical solutions to provide business insights that inform key decisions and uncover improvement opportunities Plan, perform, and document data analysis methodologies to validate the adequacy and effectiveness of business processes, internal controls, and regulatory compliance Conduct investigations regarding data inquiries and weaving those findings into a compelling story to be actionable for business stakeholders Evaluate and maintain the quality and completeness of data being used by working closely with business and Data Warehouse teams Proactively monitor risk to identify trends that are sources of risk or potential issues, determine underlying drivers, and work with colleagues on next steps Review datasets for completeness and accuracy by tying them to sources of truth Essential Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, Economics, Data Management, or a related degree with analytical or quantitative emphasis Strong SQL skills with an active understanding of databases, ETL process, Data Modeling on unstructured or ambiguous datasets across multiple business functions Ability to develop production-level code Proven experience with BI Tools (Tableau, Power BI, Knime, OBIEE, Alteryx, etc.) Experience interpreting data, designing metrics, and analyzing results using exploratory as well as statistical techniques Related experience leading ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) work Experience presenting findings to colleagues across the organization, including executive management Excellent technical skills and a strong passion for data analysis and analytics, and should also be intellectually curious in the pursuit of answers to the causes and effects of business outcomes A self-starter mindset and ability to work within a fast-moving and ambiguous environment Demonstrated analytical skills using SAS, R, or Python A basic understanding of statistical techniques like regression, predictive modeling, estimation, time series analysis, and clustering, and apply those to answer business needs (fraud analysis and anomaly detection) Ability to handle imperfect data and uncertainty, and both unstructured and structured data Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience in data analysis, data science, or internal audit with data analysis Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree in a related field Certifications in data analysis, internal audit, or a related field Experience working with cloud-based data platforms Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques Experience with data visualization tools and techniques Strong understanding of business processes and internal controls Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At arenaflex, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
