As a Senior Event Services Manager, you will play a pivotal role in planning and executing large-scale conventions and events across our resorts, convention centers, theme parks, and other unique venues. About the Team and the Position The Senior Event Services Manager position is a full-time role that reports to the Event Services Director. As a key member of our event services team, you will be responsible for prioritizing and arranging all logistical aspects of complex conventions and events, from the initial planning stages to onsite execution. Your expertise will be invaluable in customizing and selling luxury resort experiences to our high-value clients, ensuring that every event is tailored to meet their unique needs and preferences. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with high-value group and convention clients to prioritize and implement their events across our resorts and parks, with a focus on long-term legacy clients and those with high-level relationships. Manage contracts, room blocks, food and beverage, audio-visual, entertainment, theme park events, theme park tickets, transportation, and all logistics associated with each event. Demonstrate financial savvy by forecasting at a team level and ensuring that all events are delivered within budget. Develop partnerships and work closely with all team members, including mentoring and providing developmental opportunities for Event Services Managers, Event Services Coordinators, and Assistants. Service internal and external clients in a collaborative manner, with a high level of complexity, and be knowledgeable about all products and services offered. Approach problems creatively, working across multiple teams to achieve desired outcomes, and demonstrate flexibility in scheduling to ensure seamless event execution. Essential Qualifications and Skills To be successful in this role, you will need: At least 5 years of experience in event planning, preferably in a resort environment, with a focus on food and beverage, front office, or theme parks. A proven track record of working with high-level clients or Disney leaders, with a strategic understanding of business objectives and the ability to anticipate and solve potential challenges. Excellent communication, organization, and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. A talent for developing partnerships and mentoring team members, with a focus on delivering exceptional guest service. Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred: Knowledge of Walt Disney World procedures, convention resort function space, and theme park venues. Experience conducting planning sessions and leading timelines for operating areas and clients. Understanding of entertainment line of business and convention contract management. Proficiency in DSCS and Siebel Systems, with a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification or equivalent experience.
