Job Summary The Senior Design Strategist will be responsible for leading large-scale design efforts in person, hybrid, and remote settings, including defining the opportunity, outcomes, expectations, plans, resourcing, budget, and stakeholder communication. You will work closely with senior leaders to identify significant, uncertain opportunity areas to improve our customer experience on existing devices based on customer insights, trends, and business requirements. Your expertise in design thinking and experience in facilitating design studios, runs, and ideation meetings will be essential in driving the success of this role. Key Responsibilities Identify key opportunity areas to improve customer experiences based on research, trends, and business requirements Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams through problem definition, ideation, validation, and execution of innovative design solutions Plan and facilitate design studios, runs, and ideation meetings Collaborate with research to operationalize customer analysis and insights to ensure we are targeting the most important outcomes Develop and maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform design strategy Work across design and Amazon to build strong relationships with senior leadership and stakeholders Create, track, and communicate project information with teams and stakeholders Seek opportunities to make improvements to team efficiency and process Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have: 8+ years of design experience An accessible online portfolio Experience leading and collaborating on cross-functional design studios, runs, and ideation meetings, ensuring active participation and diverse perspectives across remote, hybrid, and in-person arrangements Demonstrated experience integrating large, strategic, and challenging business, technology, and customer requirements into meaningful designs with demonstrated impact Deep knowledge of design thinking processes to identify and solve complex problems Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following skills and qualifications are preferred: Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to communicate complex designs to various audiences across all levels of an organization Outstanding presentation skills, including the ability to build a story around key concepts and use cases from the early stages of the design cycle Demonstrated ability to lead teams through uncertainty Experience collaborating with research to build insights to inform design decisions and drive customer-driven solutions Demonstrated results-driven physical and digital experience design (ID and UX) Recognized as a high judgment expert in design or related fields Passion for learning and innovation, balanced with business requirements and customer expectations Experience with design tools (e.g., Figma/FigJam) Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Amazon, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
