You will prepare datasets, train and optimize models, and maintain and enhance model inference services. You will also research and apply new techniques from open-source applications and research publications, creatively adapting models to solve business problems across Indeed.
Key Responsibilities
Develop machine learning models from prototype to production, focusing on ranking science and relevance
Implement best practices for evaluation, monitoring, and MLOps
Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the organization on model inference and product applications
Participate in code review and process innovation for software engineers and data scientists on the team, and report your work
Balance technical and product thinking, demonstrating ownership for team goals and Indeed's mission to help people get jobs
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field (such as Computer Science, Math, physical sciences, social sciences, or related fields)
2+ years of industry experience as a Software Engineer, Data Scientist, or Machine Learning Engineer
Significant domain expertise with training, fine-tuning, and evaluating large models
Knowledge and hands-on experience working with Deep Learning Libraries (such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Huggingface, etc.)
Knowledge of recommendation systems, specifically ranking algorithms, is preferred
Prior experience in production machine learning deployment at scale is preferred
Basic working knowledge of Java is preferred
