Job Overview As a Senior Data Scientist at blithequark, you will utilize your expertise in data analysis and statistical modeling to inform business strategies and drive growth. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement full-cycle analysis trials, reports, and dashboards that provide actionable insights to business and product leaders. Your ability to communicate complex data insights effectively and collaborate with junior experts to address challenges will be essential in this role. Key Responsibilities Utilize quantitative analysis and data presentation to uncover patterns and understand what drives our business Build full-cycle analysis trials, reports, and dashboards using SQL, R, Python, or other scripting and statistical tools Mentor junior experts on advanced techniques and address challenges Generate recommendations and use statistical procedures and hypothesis testing to validate findings Provide insights to help business and product leaders understand marketplace dynamics, customer behaviors, and long-term trends Identify and quantify levers to help move key metrics and make recommendations Work backward from understanding and measuring problems to ideating solutions Report against our objectives by identifying key metrics and building executive-facing dashboards to track progress Collaborate with engineering to implement, report, validate, and monitor our logging Qualifications and Skills To succeed in this role, you should have: A degree in Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field 4+ years of experience in data analysis, consulting, or a related role Experience working with pipeline optimization, customer segmentation, cohort analyses, time series analyses, regression models, and more Proficiency in SQL queries, ETL, A/B Testing, and statistical analysis (e.g., hypothesis testing, experimentation, regressions) with statistical packages like Matlab, R, SAS, or Python Expertise in at least one analysis and visualization tool (e.g., Chartio, Looker, Tableau) The ability to take ambiguous problems and solve them in a structured, hypothesis-driven, data-supported way Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Advanced degree in a related field (e.g., Master's or Ph.D.) Experience working with large datasets and distributed computing systems Knowledge of machine learning algorithms and techniques Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) Strong programming skills in languages like Java, C++, or Python Career Growth and Learning Opportunities At blithequark, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our employees.
