Job Overview The Senior Data Engineer will play a critical role in our organization, working closely with various business groups and cross-functional teams to design and implement data solutions that meet our business and data science needs. As a Senior Data Engineer at blithequark, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining large-scale data architectures, designing and implementing ETL processes, and collaborating with our data science team to integrate algorithms and models into digital processes. Key Responsibilities Design and develop large-scale data architectures and pipelines to organize, collect, and normalize data that produces insights and addresses reporting needs. Develop ETL (Extract/Transform/Load) processes, design database systems, and create tools for real-time and offline analytical processing. Collaborate with the data science team to transform data and integrate algorithms and models into digital processes. Work with data in Cloud, Hadoop, and experience designing and optimizing queries to build data pipelines. Utilize strong programming skills in Python or other major languages to build robust data pipelines and dynamic systems. Build data warehouses and data models to support Data Science and other internal clients, integrating data from various sources and ensuring adherence to data quality and accessibility standards. Analyze current data technology environments to identify and assess critical capabilities and recommend solutions. Experiment with available tools and advise on new tools to determine the optimal solution given the requirements directed by the model/use case. Qualifications and Skills To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong educational foundation, preferably a Bachelor's degree, and a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in Data Engineering. You should also have: 5+ years of experience with SQL 5+ years of experience with Python Experience with Cloud-based platforms (GCP preferred, AWS, or Azure) Strong communication, decisive reasoning, and problem-solving abilities Preferred qualifications include experience with Hadoop, Hive, or PySpark, as well as experience with reporting tools such as Tableau.
