As a Security Officer, you will be an integral part of our team, working closely with students, teachers, and staff to ensure a secure and conducive learning environment. Key Responsibilities Patrol school campus, including interior and exterior areas, to enforce school and District rules and policies Ensure exterior security of campus, including parking lots, outside campus, and mall areas, to prevent vandalism, break-ins, thefts, and other incidents Monitor interior security, including hallways, lockers, classrooms, restrooms, suspension and detention areas, cafeteria, and recreation and activity areas Issue citations for student violations and report incidents to administrators Identify and remove non-students, undesirables, and others without permission or legitimate business on campus Provide security at school events, such as ball games and other activities Assist law enforcement officers with investigations and incidents Help students with behavior modification, conflict management, and resolution Maintain accurate records and reports of incidents and violations Operate basic security equipment, including surveillance equipment and two-way radios Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you must possess: High school diploma or GED equivalent Knowledge of school and District rules, codes, and policies Basic law enforcement and investigative techniques Disciplinary and behavior modification methods Conflict resolution and mediation techniques Ability to operate basic security equipment and standard office equipment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, teachers, and staff Preferred qualifications include law enforcement experience or equivalent training. We also value candidates who demonstrate integrity, ingenuity, and inventiveness in their work.
