Job Overview
We are looking for part-time tutors to teach the Reading and English language sections of the ACT and SAT. As a tutor at Huntington Learning Center of Issaquah, you will have the opportunity to establish a schedule that works for you, with the convenience and safety of tutoring in a professional learning center environment. You will focus on teaching students without the requirement for lesson plan creation, grading papers, or parent meetings, allowing you to concentrate on what you do best – helping students achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach students in a one-on-one setting, providing personalized instruction and support
Establish a schedule that works for your circumstances, with flexibility to accommodate your needs
Utilize our comprehensive training program and ongoing professional development to enhance your teaching skills

Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required
Experience with writing, critical reading, and/or English language instruction
Friendly and encouraging demeanor in one-on-one settings
Available to work at least 2-3 days per week, with hours ranging from 8-10 to 30-35 per week
Most tutoring hours are after school (3-8pm) and weekends, making this a great second job
Must be local – within reasonable commuting distance to Issaquah, WA (no out-of-state candidates please)
Must be vaccinated against Covid-19
Essential Skills and Competencies:
Strong knowledge of English language and literature
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work with students of varying ages and skill levels
Patience, empathy, and a supportive approach to teaching
Strong organizational and time management skills
