Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Saint Lucian Creole Transcription Specialist to join our team on a project-based contract. As a transcription specialist, you will be responsible for transcribing audio files in our online database, listening to audio files, and typing what you hear. Some labeling of segments is required, and the transcription must be completed according to a set of guidelines that you will be provided upon acceptance. You will be assigned tasks of varying sizes (minutes) and paid per minute of audio transcribed, with a competitive rate of USD $2.50 per audio minute transcribed. Key Responsibilities Transcribe all assigned audio files with high accuracy and attention to detail Follow project guidelines and meet project deadlines Make consistent progress on assigned audio files and communicate with project managers in a timely and effective manner Communicate in English with project managers via email (verbal communication is not required) Label segments as required and ensure that all transcription work is completed to a high standard Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to have native-level (C2) proficiency in Saint Lucian Creole, also known as Kwéyòl, including the ability to read and write. You will also need to have excellent grammar, orthography, and punctuation in Saint Lucian Creole (Kwéyòl) and be willing to take a test to demonstrate your skills. Additionally, you will need to have an Upwork profile or be willing to create an Upwork profile, as the project is being coordinated via Upwork.
