Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and skilled Remote Data Science Director to lead our Global Data Strategy group within the Risk Finance department at blithequark. This is a 100% remote position, offering the successful candidate the flexibility to work from anywhere and manage their own schedule. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing data-driven solutions to drive business growth and inform risk management decisions. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key duties: Lead the strategic analysis of blithequark credit metrics, credit provision, and reserve for Senior Management in Risk and Finance Own and maintain precise data assets/packages within Risk Finance, and become a power user of the applicable tools (troubleshoot issues, reconcile results, identify enhancements and automation opportunities, and teach other users to drive adoption) Develop and maintain standard and ad-hoc reports used by Risk Finance and/or business partners; provide credit-related analytical support Develop and present key analyses and recommendations to Senior Management Build and maintain relationships across Risk Finance portfolio groups and with partners in Risk, Controllership, Tech, etc. Provide decision-aid with a strong emphasis on developing analytics that identify trends and opportunities in the portfolio that can be used to optimize Business and Risk decisions Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: Advanced experience working with most of the following: SQL/Hive, Power BI/Tableau, Python/R, VBA, TM1 Experience working with a sophisticated level of Excel and PowerPoint required Experience in ML modeling is a plus Solid financial and analytical skills; ability to work with large sets of data and draw meaningful conclusions, empowering our business partners to make smart, data-based decisions Superior attention to detail, alongside exemplary organizational and problem-solving skills Must be results-driven and proactive with the ability to manage multiple tasks and work within tight timelines Desire to work on ambiguous tasks, creating clarity while driving successful and meaningful outcomes A strong work-ethic and strong interpersonal skills, showcasing the ability to maintain and build relationships and effectively collaborate with team members to achieve goals Master's degree in advanced mathematics or statistical discipline required Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment Knowledge of cloud-based data platforms and tools Experience with data visualization and communication Familiarity with agile development methodologies Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong technical skills in data science and analytics Excellent communication and presentation skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At blithequark, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
