About the Role We're looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Financial Accountant to support our Bookkeeping team in executing US GAAP and legal accounting and reporting for our European entities. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial data, driving process improvements, and collaborating with our global team to achieve our goals. Key Responsibilities Ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures, internal and external audit requirements, and local laws and regulations Supporting the strengthening of financial processes and controls Preparing monthly reconciliations for US GAAP and legal financial reporting Providing accounting and financial analysis to senior management and other stakeholders as needed Identifying and analyzing material profit and loss accounts Driving continuous improvement across functional areas Participating in local, regional, and global projects as required Staying up-to-date with regulatory changes in all jurisdictions where Wayfair operates Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need to have: Experience in international accounting and reporting requirements, including US GAAP A thorough understanding of financial control requirements, such as SOX 404 requirements Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work and influence stakeholders Excellent documentation and communication skills, with fluency in English (written and verbal) Ability to work with tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities Proven ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment Comfortable managing and analyzing large volumes of data Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are preferred: Experience working in the industry as a Senior Financial Accountant or in Big 4 audit Global experience and cultural awareness, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment Advanced degree in Accounting or a related field Professional certification, such as CPA or CMA Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you'll need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a collaborative and flexible approach Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines Proficiency in financial accounting and analysis software, such as Excel and financial reporting systems Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Wayfair, we're committed to the growth and development of our employees.
