Key Responsibilities
As a Data Entry Operator, your primary responsibilities will include:
Sorting mail, separating utility payments, solid waste, bank checks, returned mail, and miscellaneous items
Opening unopened mail using a mail opener machine and preparing payments for processing
Processing payments through Aperta and manual posting, remitting all payments, and preparing daily deposits
Balancing daily reports, researching discrepancies, and preparing daily spreadsheets for Finance
Processing Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) requests and returned check payments, adding associated fees to customer accounts
Pulling in files for payments to be uploaded into CIS and performing related work as needed
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
Graduation from high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma
One year of paid personal computer experience
Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, written, and visual communication
Ability to read small printed words and numbers rapidly and accurately
Must possess a valid Florida driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset:
Previous experience in data entry, customer service, or a related field
Knowledge of standard office methods and procedures
Knowledge of County departments, operations, and regulations
Ability to understand, interpret, and analyze data
Ability to maintain records/files accurately and legibly, prepare reports, and correspondence
