Why You'll Love This Job As a Customer Service Coordinator at American Airlines, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional service to our clients, ensuring a seamless travel experience. You'll be the primary point of contact for passengers and freight forwarders, promoting and selling air travel, and resolving any issues that may arise. With a focus on safety, security, and customer satisfaction, you'll be an integral part of our team. Key Responsibilities Promote and sell air travel to the traveling public or freight forwarders, providing expert knowledge and assistance. Assist with passenger check-in and load acceptance, ensuring a smooth and efficient process. Interpret and apply airline policies and regulations for domestic and international travel or shipment. Meet and dispatch aircraft within established times, demonstrating attention to detail and time management skills. Provide assistance to distressed passengers and clients, showcasing empathy and problem-solving abilities. Protect company assets and revenue, adhering to security protocols and procedures. Ensure a safe travel experience, following internal and external regulations and guidelines. Perform multiple tasks within a limited timeframe, utilizing organizational skills and adaptability. Respond and assist during safety and emergency situations, demonstrating composure and initiative. May be required to drive and operate air stairs to various types of aircraft, ensuring safe and efficient passenger boarding and deplaning. Guide and direct the work of other employees, taking on a leadership role and promoting a positive work environment. May be required to perform Passenger Operation Control functions, including air-to-ground communication and Tower operations. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: A High School diploma or GED equivalent. The ability to read, write, fluently speak, and understand the English language. Bilingual language skills are preferred in certain locations. A valid driver's license, as required by local authorities. The ability to pass FAA background checks to qualify for unescorted access privileges to airport security identification display areas (SIDA), if applicable. The ability to secure suitable airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable. Flexibility to work irregular and/or extended hours, including weekends and holidays. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Preferred Qualifications While not mandatory, the following skills and experience will be highly regarded: Previous customer service experience, particularly in the aviation industry. Knowledge of airline operations, policies, and procedures. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
