Key Responsibilities Provides evidence-based nursing care consistent with the interprofessional plan of care and in accordance with health system policies, procedures, and ANA/regulatory standards Communicates and collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to ensure continuity and coordination of care Acts as a patient/family advocate and promotes patient-centered care Performs point of care testing as required and demonstrates a high standard of moral, ethical, and culturally sensitive behavior Formulates decisions and actions based on ethical principles, using the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses to guide practice Assesses the overall needs of the patient/family and analyzes the assessment data to identify potential diagnoses or issues Develops and implements/coordinates an individualized interprofessional plan of care that recommends strategies to achieve the outcomes in accordance with the ANA Standards of Practice Evaluates patient and family educational needs and employs appropriate teaching strategies while continually evaluating progress toward achievement of goals/outcomes Essential Qualifications Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree of Science in Nursing must be obtained within 5 years Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program required State of Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License required upon hire Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in acute neurology or med/surg nursing Strong knowledge of neurological conditions, including traumatic brain injuries, stroke, and neurosurgery Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities Skills and Competencies Strong assessment and critical thinking skills Ability to provide evidence-based care and promote patient-centered care Excellent communication and collaboration skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment and promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Corewell Health, we are committed to supporting the professional growth and development of our team members.
