Job Highlights and Overview This is an exciting opportunity to work in our Acute Care Medical Unit, providing direct patient care and utilizing the nursing process to deliver high-quality services. Key Responsibilities: Provides top of scope practice in direct patient care, utilizing the nursing process to deliver high-quality services Values a multidisciplinary team approach to achieve exceptional outcomes and prioritizes wellness, patient perspective, and evidence-based practice Models proficiency through precepting those new to healthcare and/or UCHealth, and welcomes new knowledge in a fast-paced, innovative clinical environment Contributes to secure safety and quality at the point of care, and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care and services Direct care includes specialty Acute Care (Med-Surg) Units of moderate to high patient acuity, and AMSN's core curriculum and various specialty certification standards are included in evidence-based care models for each unit Essential Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years' experience State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) 6 months of nursing (RN) experience BLS - BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date Preferred Qualifications: While not essential, the following preferred qualifications will be highly regarded: Previous experience working in an Acute Care Medical Unit or similar setting Specialty certification in Med-Surg or a related field Experience with electronic medical records and other healthcare technology Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment Skills and Competencies: To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Strong clinical skills and knowledge, with the ability to provide high-quality patient care Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make sound judgments and decisions Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and services, and to contributing to a positive and supportive work environment Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At UCHealth, we are committed to supporting the career growth and development of our employees.
