Key Responsibilities: Ensuring Safe and Efficient Cargo Handling As a Ramp Agent, you'll be responsible for a range of critical tasks that require attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to safety. Some of your daily responsibilities will include: Safely lifting, loading, unloading, and transporting baggage, mail, and cargo to and from aircraft, while ensuring timely connections by guiding incoming and departing aircraft from gate positions. Safeguarding cargo, baggage, and mail from damage, loss, and weather conditions. Safely operating ground equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, and tow tractors in congested areas. Operating baggage scanners and computers to ensure accurate routing of baggage to customers' destinations. You'll work in a fast-paced environment that requires flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to work varied shifts, including early mornings, overnights, and weekends. Our scheduling is based on operational needs, and you'll work between 20 and 40 hours per week, depending on your seniority. What You Need to Succeed: Essential Qualifications To excel as a Ramp Agent at blithequark, you'll need to meet our minimum qualifications, which include: Consistently prioritizing safety and security for yourself, others, and personal data. Embracing diverse people, thinking, and styles. Possessing a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency. Being at least 18 years of age and having authorization to work in the United States. Having a valid driver's license. Proficiency in English. Passing a physical ability test (PAT) to demonstrate your ability to perform the required tasks. Wearing required company-approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hearing protection, safety-toe footwear, protective headwear, and high visibility safety apparel. Meeting airport-specific requirements, such as obtaining a SIDA Badge and Customs Seal.
