As a Quality Inspector - Part Time, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the quality and safety of various products, from softline and hardline goods to garments, and make a significant impact on the products that shape people's lives. Job Overview This part-time Quality Inspector position is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in apparel/textile manufacturing and quality inspection. As a Quality Inspector, you will conduct inspections of softline, hardline, and garment products at various stages of production, ensuring they meet client standards and requirements. Your expertise will be crucial in evaluating raw materials, inspecting products for defects, and reporting findings. You will work under the direction of Client Program Specialists, following standard operating procedures, client-specific procedures, and other inspection standards. Key Responsibilities Evaluate raw materials and associated materials against client standards and check orders against items received, which may include assessing factory capabilities as necessary. Inspect products for defects and overall workmanship during in-process and/or final stages, checking quality against reference samples or other client-approved standards/criteria. Conduct visual inspections and measurements of finished products against client standards/criteria. Follow all required procedures established by the company and client, representing the company in a professional and ethical manner. Utilize computer hardware and software currently in use by the department, with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Excel, and Word. Adhere to all relevant UL environmental, health, and safety procedures and regulations, as well as any requirements from the client that may be applicable. Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you should have: A high school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of 1 year of demonstrated proficiency in a quality-related area, with experience in inspections (preferably soft lines or hardlines) being highly desirable. The ability to gain proficiency in inspection procedures, random sampling principles, and documentation and procedures required by the company and clients. Strong knowledge of apparel construction techniques, textiles, and inspection criteria, including Inspection Levels, AQLs, and sampling plans and standards (ANSI/ASQ Z14). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Willingness to travel via car and plane, with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
