Key Responsibilities
Receive provider information from external sources and apply knowledge and experience to validate the provided information
Accurately enter and maintain provider records in the computer system, emphasizing precision and timeliness
Conduct regular audits of loaded provider records to ensure quality and financial accuracy, providing documented feedback when necessary
Support system/health plan integration efforts and train existing staff and new hires
Assist in system-related testing activities
Establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with coworkers, clients, members, providers, and customers
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent GED and have at least 1+ years of managed care experience and/or medical office experience with coding or credentialing experience. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with adherence to Managed Care Organization's policies and confidentiality requirements. You must also be able to maintain reliable attendance based on the agreed-upon schedule and understand and comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in a medical office setting working in provider credentialing or related position
Strong knowledge of claims, coding, or credentialing
Experience with data entry and maintenance of provider records in a computer system
