This position offers competitive compensation starting at $19.89 per hour plus shift differential, with annual earnings potential ranging from $70,000 to $80,000 depending on experience and overtime. What You'll Do

As a Production Operator at arenaflex, you'll play a crucial role in our packaging operations. Your daily responsibilities will include:


Manufacturing Process Monitoring: Observe and monitor all manufacturing processes and procedures to ensure optimal production flow. You'll guide various tasks essential to the production cycle, which may include loading materials into production machines, removing bags, and organizing raw materials or finished products.
Equipment Operation: Responsible for the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of equipment, including mechanical and programmable controls. You'll complete necessary filler, conveyor, and palletizer changes for product changeovers.
Quality Control: Visually inspect all incoming materials and outgoing products, making minor adjustments as needed. Perform and evaluate package integrity tests to ensure every product meets our rigorous quality standards.
Equipment Maintenance: Ensure efficient operation of case forming, case sealing, labeling, and all other downstream equipment. Ensure equipment is supplied with required materials such as adhesives, shrink wrap, and labels.
Waste Management: Collect and dispose of trash and production waste while maintaining a clean and organized production environment.
Cleaning Responsibilities: Clean production equipment and workspaces to maintain hygiene standards and prevent contamination.
Collaboration: Work directly with maintenance staff, other line personnel, and management to troubleshoot issues and ensure maximum production efficiencies.
Issue Identification: Identify non-conforming products such as poorly sealed boxes, improper codes, or labels. Recognize and report product or machine issues to production, maintenance, and warehouse personnel using plant radios or 2-way radios.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records and logs as required by company policies and quality systems.
Safety Compliance: Conform to all standard safety practices, security rules, and all company policies and procedures.


Key Responsibilities and Duties


Monitor workstations and OIT (Operator Interface Terminal) screens to track production metrics and identify areas for improvement
Assist forklift drivers with lower-level issues involving pallets, slip sheets, and stretch wrapping
Perform package quality checks as required by quality control protocols
Execute preventive maintenance duties as assigned by supervisors
Maintain equipment and area cleanliness to ensure compliance with all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards
Maintain proper safety conditions of equipment, including promptly correcting or reporting safety issues to your supervisor
Investigate and address machinery or quality issues as they arise
Participate in team initiatives and collaborative projects
Set up and changeover equipment for different package sizes or various case codes
Properly label all containers used in your work area


Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum Requirements:


High school diploma or GED equivalent
Working knowledge of production environments and machinery
Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English fluently
Ability to troubleshoot production-related issues with strong problem-solving skills
Ability to understand and follow directions accurately
Ability to demonstrate excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
Ability to read equipment operation manuals and technical documentation
Ability to recognize material and product defects with keen attention to detail
Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
Manual dexterity and finger coordination
Ability to work all shifts, including nights
Ability to work up to twelve (12) hour shifts to meet business needs
Ability to work extended hours and overtime as required by production demands
Ability to visually identify material defects
Ability to hear machine operation sounds to detect jams, changes in speed, and other routine running conditions
Ability to rotate positions and adapt to changing work requirements
Must be willing to participate in job improvement training (such as problem-solving) and cross-train on all equipment
Must be able to follow standard operating procedures required by our Quality Framework
Must be able to work in a team environment effectively
Must be certified on the training plan for this position within six months of start date


Preferred Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in a related field (Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business Administration)
Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in food or beverage production
Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification
Knowledge of GMP and FDA regulations
Experience with automated packaging equipment
Basic computer skills and familiarity with production management systems
