Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Principal Engineer - DevOps Data Platform Leader to join our team at arenaflex. As a technical thought leader and individual contributor, you will be responsible for driving the organizational transformation in developing DevOps tooling, practices, and culture. You will contribute to enterprise-wide requirements and ensure adoption of best practices, including visibility, scalability, availability, security, and cost performance. Key Responsibilities Lead DevOps strategy covering design, development of tools, practices, and culture Establish and enforce DevOps best practices, including version control, code review, automated testing, and deployment techniques Design and manage infrastructure as code, using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar, to provision and manage resources across cloud environments Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, or similar, ensuring fast and reliable application deployment Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure teams are adhering to industry best practices and regulatory requirements Monitor and analyze DevOps pipelines and practices, identifying areas for improvement, optimization, and automation to enhance launch/failback consistency and accuracy Stay up-to-date with emerging data technologies, trends, and best practices, and make recommendations for their adoption within the organization's DevOps environment Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior colleagues, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant field Experience working in public cloud environments, GCP (preferred)/Azure/AWS, and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) Proficiency in infrastructure as code concepts and tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) for automating resource provisioning and configuration Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline tools (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI) and version control systems (e.g., Git) Strong scripting skills in languages like Python, Bash, or similar Solid problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex DevOps platform issues and provide effective solutions Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Cloud Logging Solutions) to ensure application performance and system health Understanding of security best practices in DevOps, including experience with vulnerability scanning, compliance frameworks, and secure deployment practices Experience with Generative AI or possibly Gitlab Leadership experience, including mentoring and guiding junior engineers, is a plus Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At arenaflex, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
