Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Principal Engineer Data Center Exits to join our team. As a Principal Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving the migration of our server farm portfolio to the cloud. You will lead a cross-functional team of technical delivery specialists to identify, design, and execute migration plans to IaaS, collaborating with various stakeholders, including Cloud Migration Factory, CIO Area groups, Application Development, Cybersecurity, and Data Engineering. Your expertise in data center exits, cloud migration, and server farm relocation will be essential in ensuring a seamless transition with minimal business disruption. Key Responsibilities Define migration procedures, apply to applications, and lead cutovers, ensuring precision and no unplanned business interruption Develop detailed migration plans, working with Project Managers, Product Owners, and Application teams Execute modernization and migration plans from legacy technologies, ensuring compliance with Wells Fargo's technology standards, design principles, and architecture guidelines Manage Item Owners, target server farm landing zone infrastructure builds, and ensure essential security and digital guardrails are in place, approved, and tested prior to migration Relieve risks associated with migrations, guaranteeing proper sequencing of events and managing risk in accordance with Wells Fargo's Risk Management policies and procedures Create and maintain an integrated migration, build, and exit roadmap with execution plans, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations Essential Qualifications 7+ years of engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience Proven experience in data center exits, cloud migration, and server farm relocation, with a strong understanding of cloud technologies, including Azure and Google Cloud Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop creative solutions Preferred Qualifications 7+ years of software and/or cloud engineering experience, with a focus on cloud migration and data center exits 7+ years of experience in a hosting environment, particularly in a large financial institution 7+ years of delivery experience, with a proven track record of success in managing complex technical projects Experience with Agile practices, DevOps, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, with experience in implementing security controls and measures to protect against cyber threats Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Wells Fargo, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop in their careers.
