About the Role: Prep Cook - Homestead-Miami Speedway We're on the hunt for a skilled and dedicated Prep Cook to join our dynamic team at the Homestead-Miami Speedway. As a Prep Cook, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our culinary operations, working closely with our chefs and other team members to deliver high-quality dishes that exceed our customers' expectations. Key Responsibilities: Obtain daily production schedules and preparation requirements from the Chef, and prepare items on production sheets following established quantities and recipes. Complete and follow daily production worksheets and waste log sheets, tasting completed meals to ensure quality and consistency. Operate and clean equipment per department procedures after each use, maintaining a clean and safe working environment. Store, label, and date all food items according to policy, adhering to HACCP guidelines to ensure the quality and safety of our food supply. Take orders from customers, prepare items requiring short preparation time, and serve customers in an efficient and friendly manner. Complete orders from steam tables and grill, serving customers at multiple stations while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation. Use approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures, and standard portion control. Resolve customer concerns in a professional and courteous manner, providing exceptional customer service. Perform other duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances. Essential Qualifications: To succeed in this role, you'll need: A strong foundation in food preparation and cooking techniques, with previous experience as a Prep Cook or in a similar role. Knowledge of HACCP guidelines and food safety regulations, with a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, customers, and management. A positive and flexible attitude, with a willingness to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, although not required. Preferred Qualifications: While not essential, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge: Previous experience working in high-volume event environments, such as sports stadiums or entertainment venues. Certifications in food safety, such as ServSafe, can be an asset. Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation, and presentation techniques. Experience with inventory management and cost control. Compensation, Perks, and Benefits: We offer a competitive salary range of $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, depending on experience.
