We're seeking an experienced Physical Education Teacher to join our team at Liberty High School on a temporary basis. As a Physical Education Teacher, you'll play a vital role in developing students' motor skills, knowledge, and behaviors for active living, physical fitness, and emotional intelligence. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement a planned, sequential, K-12 standards-based program of curricula and instruction in physical education. Teach motor skills, knowledge, and behaviors for active living, physical fitness, sportsmanship, self-efficacy, and emotional intelligence. Assess student learning and progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting instruction to meet diverse needs. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement, motivation, and respect for others. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school personnel from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Maintain accurate records, reports, and other documentation as required. Participate in staff development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay current with best practices in physical education. Collaborate with colleagues to integrate physical education with other subjects and promote a cohesive school culture. Essential Qualifications To be considered for this temporary Physical Education Teacher position, you must meet the following essential qualifications: Hold a valid State of Oregon Teaching License appropriate for the position. Possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education from an accredited institution. Demonstrate proficient oral and written communication skills in English. Be proficient in the use of computer and Internet-based applications, including email and systems applications. Possess and maintain a current CPR and First Aid card. Show a strong command of the physical skills necessary to teach a variety of sports, games, and activities. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Experience teaching physical education in a K-12 setting. Knowledge of curriculum design and implementation in physical education. Ability to integrate technology into physical education instruction. Experience working with diverse student populations and promoting inclusivity. Skills and Competencies To succeed in this role, you'll need: Strong organizational and time management skills. Compensation and Benefits We offer a competitive salary range of $50,674.00 - $104,499.00 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
