Day in the Life

As a Pharmacy Technician Data Entry Specialist, you will perform data entry tasks and work collaboratively with other team members in the prescription dispensing process at our closed-door pharmacy. Your primary responsibilities will include:


Triaging customer care requests by division, urgency, and data/reaction required
Computing or verifying correct dosages based on prescriptions
Assisting with reviewing opioid Rx's to ensure timely refill
Providing dispensing pharmacist information regarding allergies and drug interactions, therapeutic duplications, and other concerns flagged by the computer
Creating and maintaining accurate patient records


Key Responsibilities

As a Pharmacy Technician Data Entry Specialist, your key responsibilities will include:


Accurately entering prescription orders and patient information into our system
Verifying prescription orders for accuracy and completeness
Providing exceptional customer service to patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals
Collaborating with pharmacists and other team members to ensure efficient pharmacy operations
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records and pharmacy documentation


Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Essential Qualifications:


Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent experience)
Certificate, license, or registration as a pharmacy technician, as required by state law
Strong data entry and organizational skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively


Preferred Qualifications:


Related experience in the long-term care industry
PTCB National Certification
Experience with pharmacy management software and systems
