Position Overview
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Pharmacy Data Entry Specialist to handle information processing and patient enrollment for our pharmacy operations. In this role, you will be responsible for accurate data entry, resolving third-party issues, and responding to high-volume customer requests. You'll work under direct supervision, following organizational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $27-$35 per hour with full-time employment benefits. The role is based in Miramar, USA, with potential for remote work arrangements in accordance with state guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Enrollment & Data Entry: Utilize arenaflex prescription data entry techniques and guidelines to process new patient registrations by accurately entering information into our pharmacy management systems. Ensure all data is entered correctly to maintain patient safety and regulatory compliance.
Prescription Processing: Handle patient medication requests within HIPAA guidelines. Enter refill orders for processing and ensure timely fulfillment. Investigate and acquire missing prescription information as needed.
Medical Interpretation: Interpret clinical abbreviations and SIG codes accurately to ensure prescription orders are processed correctly. Maintain a strong understanding of pharmaceutical terminology and medical documentation.
Exception Resolution: Resolve all data entry-related exceptions efficiently and accurately. Identify patterns in issues and work to prevent future occurrences.
Customer Communication: Handle correspondence with patients through inbound calls, chats, and emails. Make outbound calls to prescribers and patients as necessary to resolve issues or obtain required information.
Third-Party Issue Resolution: Examine, collect information, make corrections, and resubmit claims for processing according to individual plan requirements. Make phone calls to insurers and other parties to obtain information, gain override approval, or otherwise resolve third-party issues.
Pharmacist Support: Provide assistance to Pharmacists, both those in the office and those in other locations. Identify and communicate issues to senior-level staff as appropriate.
Compliance: Maintain compliance with all state and government guidelines, organizational policies, and procedures. Follow best practices for data security and patient privacy.
Licensure: Must obtain an active professional license or certification within the first 90 days of employment and maintain an active license or certification throughout employment.
Essential Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED required
Computer Skills: Basic level proficiency with computer operations, including:
Starting up and shutting down computers
Using the mouse to point and click
Opening and closing programs
Switching between programs
Saving documents
Printing reports
Accessing information online
Internet Skills: Basic web browser abilities, including:
Opening a browser program
Typing URLs in the correct location
Using search engines effectively
Bookmarking websites
Navigating back/forward/stop buttons
Completing online forms
Keyboard Skills: Intermediate level keyboarding skills (minimum 25 WPM with accuracy, typing from memory, organizing documents)
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills
Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older
Preferred Qualifications
At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or call center environment
At least 1.5 years of experience as a pharmacy technician with certification/registration by the state as granted by the State Board of Pharmacy or a nationally recognized certification organization
Demonstrated experience providing excellent customer care to internal and external clients, including meeting quality standards for services and assessing customer satisfaction
Intermediate to advanced keyboarding skills (minimum 35 WPM with accuracy, typing from memory, formatting documents)
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English
