About the Role: Clinical Pharmacist Advisor - Specialty Medical Prior Authorization As a Clinical Pharmacist Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in our operations, focusing on the clinical review of medical data to facilitate prior authorization for specialty medications. Your clinical expertise will be crucial in applying approved criteria for both prospective and concurrent reviews. Additionally, you will provide exceptional support through inbound calls from physicians and members regarding their authorization statuses, ensuring seamless communication and decision-making. Key Responsibilities: Collaborative Clinical Review: Work closely with Technicians and Nurses to process authorization requests, providing clinical insights and collecting necessary medical data for comprehensive assessments. Effective Communication: Ensure timely communication of case decisions to physicians, health plans, employers, patients, and other healthcare professionals, adhering to approval and denial management processes. Inbound Call Management: Handle inbound phone calls and escalations from physicians and patients regarding Prior Authorization, providing expert advice and resolving queries efficiently. Interdepartmental Coordination: Establish and maintain robust communication channels among the company, health plan, and employer group staff, fostering a collaborative environment. Staying Clinically Current: Maintain and enhance your professional and technical knowledge of drugs and disease-states relevant to the Specialty Medical programs within the Novologix platform. Flexibility and Adaptability: Perform other related projects and duties as assigned, including on-call and after-hours pharmacist availability, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to team success. Essential Qualifications: Prior Authorization Experience: Proven experience in prior authorization, with a deep understanding of the processes and challenges involved. Active Pharmacist License: Hold an active state pharmacist license in good standing, ensuring you're eligible to practice and provide expert clinical advice. Basic Computer Skills: Possess basic computer skills, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies. Strong Organizational and Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills, facilitating effective communication and collaboration. Preferred Qualifications: Pharmacy Experience: Previous experience in retail or hospital pharmacy settings, providing a solid foundation in clinical practice. Minimum 2-5 Years Experience: A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a relevant role, with a proven track record of clinical expertise and operational management. Proficiency in MS Office and Windows-based Applications: Experience using MS Office and other Windows-based applications, enhancing your productivity and efficiency.
