Experienced Pharmacist in Charge for Long Term Care - Full Time Opportunity with CVS Health

About the Role The Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) is a vital leadership position within our Omnicare Pharmacy, reporting directly to the General Manager. As a PIC, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to ensure operational excellence, compliance, and superior customer service. Key Responsibilities Provide supervision for the dispensing pharmacy, ensuring accurate and efficient operations Monitor industry, regulatory, and compliance developments, partnering with Division Compliance Officer and pharmacy management to address changes Communicate and educate staff on pharmacy-related issues, such as regulatory changes, FDA drug recalls, and investigational studies Implement quality assurance programs to supervise and evaluate patient care, identify opportunities for improvement, and resolve problems Develop and implement policies and procedures for procurement, storage, security, and disposition of drugs and devices Maintain records of pharmacist licensure and technician registrations, as required by state law Respond to Board of Pharmacy inquiries and implement corrective actions as needed Ensure pharmacy compliance with local, state, and federal accrediting rules and regulations Serve as a primary source of information, responding to internal and external customer queries Perform various duties associated with narcotic room compliance, including reporting periodic pharmacy self-surveys and responding to regulatory surveyor inquiries Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: A current pharmacist license in the state of Virginia, in good standing A strong foundation in pharmacy operations, with a focus on long term care Excellent leadership and customer service skills The ability to drive continuous improvement, quality, and service Preferred Qualifications While not mandatory, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge: 1 year of management experience in a Pharmacist in Charge or Pharmacy Manager role 1 year of pharmacist experience in a long term care dispensing role Immunization certification or willingness to become certified A Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy What We Offer At CVS Health, we offer a comprehensive benefits package, including: Competitive salary and benefits Paid Time Off (PTO) and vacation pay Health, dental, and vision insurance Employee Stock Purchase Program and 401(k) with company match Generous employee discount at CVS stores Opportunities for career growth and professional development A culture that prioritizes well-being, diversity, and inclusion Work Environment and Culture As a CVS Health employee, you'll be part of a dynamic and supportive team that values collaboration, innovation, and customer-centricity. Compensation and Benefits The typical pay range for this role is $41.85 - $90.13 per hour. The actual base salary offer will depend on factors such as experience, education, geography, and other relevant considerations.
