Full-Time, 40 hours per week.

Office Hours:

8:30 AM ? 5:30 PM.

Pay:

$18-23/hr.

Job Description.

Personal injury paralegals support attorneys with claims and cases involving wrongful or neg-ligent acts of another resulting in serious bodily injury or death from motor vehicle collisions (including trucks and motorcycles), medical negligence, slips, trips, falls, etc.

We need paralegals with experience in working personal injury claims/cases from intake to settlement or verdict. Our paralegals must be flexible, teachable, able to work well under pressure, able to effectively work in a team environment; able to prioritize workload, and able to reliably commute to work Monday through Friday. This position requires strong organiza-tional, time management and communication skills.

Job Responsibilities. The paralegal is responsible for and must be able to:

1. Serve as a communication liaison between attorneys, courts, and clients.

2. Effectively and professionally communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, treat-ing physicians, vendors, and witnesses.

3. Schedule and properly calendar events such as hearings, depositions, mediations, phone consultations, etc.

4. Maintain and organize files within case management system.

5. Track and organize responses to medical records requests.

6. Track and organize responses to discovery requests.

7. Request, review, and summarize medical records to prepare for settlement demands, discovery responses, mediation, and trial.

8. Track and capture costs, medical expenses, and liens to prepare accurate closing state-ments, persuasive settlement demands, and legally sufficient discovery responses.

9. Negotiate liens, medical bills, and settlements, under attorney supervision.

10. Draft persuasive settlement demands.

11. Draft legally sufficient responses to discovery requests.

12. Work with clients to meet discovery deadlines.

13. Draft certain legal documents such as standard complaints; notices for hearings and depositions; discovery requests and responses; subpoenas; and affidavits, under attor-ney supervision.

14. Assist attorneys with trial preparation by organizing exhibits, aiding with client meet-ings, coordinating witnesses, obtaining witness statements, etc.

15. Ensure confidentiality of documents is maintained.

16. Cooperatively work with administrator and case manager in fulfillment of their duties.

17. Perform other administrative tasks as needed.

Education Qualifications. The paralegal must have the following:

1. Paralegal Certificate or degree in paralegal studies or legal studies.

2. Minimum three (3) years of experience as a personal injury paralegal or legal assistant.

Technology Qualifications. The paralegal must be able to:

1. Proficiently use legal research tools such as Lexis Advance.

2. Proficiently use Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

3. Proficiently file court documents via the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal.

4. Proficiently use file sharing systems, such as Dropbox.

5. Proficiently use video communication platforms, such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $37,440.00 - $47,817.00 per year
