We're seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as an Experienced Patient Access Representative. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work from home after completing a comprehensive training period and meeting productivity standards. Key Responsibilities
As an Experienced Patient Access Representative, you'll be responsible for facilitating all components of patients' entrance into any Mercy facility, including scheduling, registration, and financial clearance. You'll also be responsible for ensuring that accurate patient data is obtained and populated into the patient record. Your exceptional attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and insurance companies will be essential in this role.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
Facilitating patient scheduling, registration, and financial clearance
Ensuring accurate patient data is obtained and populated into the patient record
Communicating effectively with patients, physicians, and insurance companies
Maintaining knowledge and competence with insurance carriers, Medicare guidelines, and federal, state, and accreditation agencies
Working collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical hospital staff to ensure seamless patient care
Providing exceptional customer service and resolving patient complaints in a timely and professional manner
Qualifications
We're looking for a highly motivated and customer-focused individual with a strong background in clerical experience and medical terminology. Some of the essential qualifications for this role include:
1-3 years of clerical experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
Experience with medical terminology and insurance plans
High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college helpful
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, and insurance companies
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Knowledgeable and experienced with various computer systems, including electronic medical records and scheduling software
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, we're looking for candidates with the following preferred qualifications:
Experience working in a contact center or customer service environment
Knowledge of insurance carriers, Medicare guidelines, and federal, state, and accreditation agencies
Experience with electronic medical records and scheduling software
Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with clinical and non-clinical hospital staff
