About the Role As a part-time remote tutor with Revolution Prep, you will be responsible for tutoring students in a variety of academic subjects, communicating with families regarding student progress, and participating in ongoing professional development. Key Responsibilities: Tutoring Students: Provide high-quality online tutoring to elementary and middle school students in a variety of academic subjects, including math, reading, writing, and science. (approximately 80% of work schedule) Communication with Families: Communicate with families regarding student progress, provide recommendations for student success, and respond to parent inquiries. (approximately 10% of work schedule) Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development and subject expansion to stay up-to-date on best practices and curriculum developments. (approximately 5% of work schedule) Session Preparation: Prepare for sessions using Revolution Prep provided materials, including reviewing lesson plans and practicing instructional strategies. (approximately 5% of work schedule) Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following requirements and qualifications: Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree: A bachelor's degree is required; advanced degrees are welcomed. Teaching or Tutoring Experience: Experience teaching or tutoring is desired but not required. High-Speed Internet: High-speed internet with the ability to connect via ethernet cable, as well as a clean, quiet, professional setting for online sessions. Availability: Ability to work on at least one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) and commit to employment and schedule requirements for at least the remainder of the current school year. Authorization to Work: Authorized to work in the United States (current residence must also be in the US). Preferred Qualifications: Teaching Certification: Teaching certification or licensure is preferred. Subject Area Expertise: Expertise in a specific subject area, such as math or reading, is preferred. Schedule Requirements As a part-time remote tutor with Revolution Prep, you will be required to post at least 16 hours of availability in blocks of 4+ hours, with a goal of 12+ hours of delivery each week. You will need to be available on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) and weekdays (Monday-Thursday), with specific hours listed below: Monday-Thursday: 4-10:00 pm Eastern Time Saturday: 9:00 am - 6:00 pm Eastern Time Sunday: 11:00 am - 10:00 pm Eastern Time Compensation and Benefits Revolution Prep offers a competitive salary of $25 per hour, with opportunities for professional growth and development. Internet: High-speed internet with strong and reliable reception/service, provided through an ethernet connection. Memory/RAM: 4GB or more of available memory/RAM. Revolution Prep will provide a webcam, headset, ring light, green screen, and an annotation tablet to support you in providing high-quality online instruction.
