Job Summary and Key Responsibilities As a Part Time Head Cashier, you will be responsible for overseeing the checkout process, ensuring seamless customer transactions, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction. Your key responsibilities will include: Assisting customers with self-checkout transactions, providing product information, and resolving any issues that may arise Demonstrating exceptional customer service skills, including greeting customers, answering questions, and providing recommendations on products and services Managing the front-end operations, including supervising cashiers, handling customer complaints, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment Processing sales transactions, handling returns and refunds, and maintaining accurate records of sales and customer interactions Collaborating with other departments to achieve sales goals, promote products, and enhance the overall customer experience Maintaining a high level of product knowledge, including features, benefits, and applications, to effectively communicate with customers and drive sales Essential Functions and Responsibilities In addition to the key responsibilities outlined above, you will also be responsible for: Preparing the register area at the beginning and end of each shift, including confirming functionality of registers and scanners and stocking register supplies Inspecting returned merchandise for damages and ensuring that all items are properly processed and restocked Entering and submitting customer orders, printing order tickets, verifying receipts, and signing off on loading tickets Reviewing and placing online orders and returned merchandise in the appropriate areas Looking up product information and competitor prices to verify price match and ensure that customers receive the best possible value Recording all items used in the store on the store use lists and maintaining accurate records of inventory and sales Requirements and Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications: Less than 1 year of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier, with a strong understanding of customer service principles and practices Ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation High school diploma or equivalent, with a strong focus on mathematics and communication skills Preferred Qualifications and Experience While not required, the following qualifications and experience are preferred: 1 to 2 years of experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs, including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and explaining warranties, product features, and benefits 1 to 2 years of experience as a head cashier, with a strong understanding of front-end operations and customer service principles 1 to 2 years of experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store, with a strong knowledge of products, services, and company policies 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience in any field, including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees Less than a year of retail experience detecting common signs of shoplifting, including merchandise hidden inside of containers, merchandise under carts, and price labels switched Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Lowe's, we are committed to the growth and development of our employees.
